Bio:
We are only able to learn when we are comfortable, happy and have a willingness to succeed. My job for over 16 years has been to instil that sense of security and drive in all of my students. I do this by having high expectations of both myself and the students; providing excellent knowledge of the curriculum and exam requirements and having a good sense of fun.
I have been a tutor for over 5 years and have loved the challenge of working 1:1 with a range of children and young adults across the age range. From Year 6 SATs work to 11+ entrance exams; from Maths GCSE to EAL for a Chinese student who had just moved to Britain. Working on a more personal basis, I am able to assess gaps in knowledge and tailor the curriculum to the student’s progression requirements.
Testimonials:
Kath has been tutoring my sons for the past four years and is currently supporting my youngest through Key Stage 2. Kath has built a wonderful rapport with the boys; the animated excitement to learn and laughter that fills a tutoring session is testament to this. She has supported the boys to relish the challenge of learning and to gain skills that will support them both in being lifelong learners. She has worked with them to help them focus on areas of development through their education to date so that they can meet their potential. This has led to excellent outcomes for my eldest son at the end of Key Stage 2, resulting in being extremely well prepared for the transition to Key Stage 3.
Kath’s approach is flexible and incorporates the student’s interest(s) as well as being very supportive in a way that not only allows progress to be made academically but for reflection to take place that allows the student to be able to regulate their own learning. She is very reliable and has been flexible with changes when needed due to other commitments for boys. I recommend Kath without reservation as a tutor.

Where do I start with our recommendation? Couldn’t have asked for a more enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutor who made additional tutoring such fun for my daughter. Kath is fab, she’s flexible and totally down to earth. She understands the pressures children and parents are under, she’s non-judgmental, she can lighten the mood of a parent/child relationship which may be struggling under the pressure of school work and she honestly felt like part of our family.
We were all gutted when the time came to say goodbye to Kath. I think that perfectly sums up how fabulous she is. My daughter has gone from strength to strength, she’s now in the highest Math class in Y7 at her new high school, Kath taught my daughter how to approach essay writing and what teachers would be looking for (I honestly wouldn’t have known, so I learned something too!) and she joined high school as a confident student because of her time with Kath. And that is priceless! I wholeheartedly recommend Kath and do so to all my friends with younger children. What a find!

Kath has been tutoring my two sons (Year 3 and Year 5) for just over a year. Alongside her vast experience of primary school teaching, she is always really enthusiastic and encouraging. The boys thoroughly enjoy the activities they complete with Kath. Learning is always completed through the boys' interests and there is always lots of laughter to be heard when they are working together which is great to hear. I would absolutely have no hesitation
in recommending Kath.

Kath has tutored our daughter (year 6) in maths and we couldn't recommend her highly enough. She immediately put her at ease and really connected with her so that our daughter felt comfortable asking questions or explaining where she needed more help. Kath is extremely knowledgeable and most importantly knows how to convey that to her pupils so that they can learn to their full potential. It is both her approachable personality and manner with children plus her knowledge and experience that is really a winning combination for her as a tutor. We cannot thank her enough for her help.
