Qualifications and experience
I am a fully qualified geography teacher who is currently Head of Department in an outstanding school in the Harrogate area. I have tutored privately for 5 years and I have supported students to achieve and exceed their target grades. Recently I have been an examiner for the AQA A Level course which has allowed me to better support students with exam techniques. Whilst I specialised in Human geography at University, I have a strong understanding of all aspects of physical and human geography and secure knowledge of the specifications and exam techniques required to access the highest marks. Bio
I have a strong passion for Geography and I am keen to educate students in understanding the world around us in a fun and exciting way. I am a firm believer that every pupil has their own unique set of skills and needs, so lessons will be tailored to suit your requirements. I also believe that learning should never be dull, so each session will provide the necessary topic information in a dynamic way. I have secure knowledge of how to best support students to become independent with their Geography revision, whilst planning interactive sessions that aids them to improve their exam technique and respond to feedback given.

Hannah helped me achieve above my predicted grade at A-Level, she encouraged me to break down questions to check my level of understanding and then guided me to what the examination board were looking for, to achieve maximum points. Past papers are key to achieving the best results and Hannah gave me the confidence and guidance to decipher the questions, answering them in full, whilst working within the time limit. Writing bullet points, prior to answering the question, ensured I didn’t miss key points. For the smaller questions, Hannah would run quizzes and this kept my answers precise, focusing on the important details. I would thoroughly recommend Hannah as a tutor; she is kind, patient, helpful, an excellent communicator, and used different methods to help my revision.
