Bio:

I have taught English Language and Literature for many years and more recently taken on one-to-one tuition. This includes tutoring Literacy and Maths to KS1 and KS2 students. Working with children is an experience that I thoroughly enjoy and I have much success in motivating all age groups.

As well as mainstream teaching, I have qualifications in the social use of language and am proficient in teaching students with special educational needs such as ADHD, autism, and dyslexia. Counselling qualifications from Westminster Pastoral Foundation at Leeds University supported me in pastoral roles and I have also been involved in the planning, preparation, and teaching in Humanities, teaching History and RE to GCSE.

Following a wealth of experience and a broad spectrum of teaching in schools, I now tutor one-to-one or small groups full-time and very much enjoy the challenge of helping these young people succeed.

 Testimonials:

My son had failed his English GCSE - it meant that he couldn't start his  A levels and his confidence was at an all-time low.  When we first met Michelle she was like a breath of fresh air.  Her confidence in my son was inspiring.  He would leave her lessons feeling uplifted and positive. After just 6 lessons my son sat his retake and when we received the results we were overjoyed that his grade had improved from a 2 up to a 6! I don't think we could have achieved a 4-grade improvement without her.
